GNDR 111 – Research Paper Prompt
Research and describe a gender topic or issue. Use our lectures, VT discussions, course readings, documentaries, or primary art materials to help you research your topic. Choose a concept we have been discussing (i.e. privilege, intersectionality, gender or body construction, gender policing, or freedom vs. justice). Apply the concept/s you have learned to your chosen topic to reveal how gender and power is operating in your topic. Trace the topics historical origins, cultural ties, and societal impacts.
Your topic can be about a gender topic or issue that is: historical, connected to the justice system, societal/cultural viewpoint, institution, or an body/identity movement. Remember you must relate your topic to our course topics we have covered in our class; in other words, how does your research topic fit into what we have discussed and the larger picture of Gender and Body Studies?
