Rhetorical Pilot Project Now that you have spent several modules reading scholarly examples of rhetorical criticism of public communication, you have the opportunity to produce your own polished piece of criticism. To that end, you should select an art

FOCUS ON THE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THE MOVIE AND THIER INTERACTION AS THE “COP BUDDY” TO HELP DEAL WITH STRESS AS WELL AS HOW THEIR FAMILY SUPPORT BOTH OFF THE JOB AND COWORKERS HELPS THEM MANAGE STRESS INSTEAD OF USING MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.

Now that you have spent several modules reading scholarly examples of rhetorical criticism of public communication, you have the opportunity to produce your own polished piece of criticism.

To that end, you should select an artifact to analyze. You might analyze a speech, film, a television show (a series, a season, a few key episodes, depending on your argument), an advertising campaign, a body of mainstream discourse such as news coverage about a particular topic, an activist or social movement, or another appropriate text. Your eventual goal is to write an essay where you make an original rhetorical argument about your artifact in a way that advances what we know about public communication.

Your final essay should comprise 3000-3500 words. Im looking for (at least):

 * a clear argumentthis means you need a thesis statement that previews main points,

* analysis of the artifactNOT just a summary or description of the artifactI should learn something new about rhetoric or public communication, about your artifact, or both, that I wouldnt know from just watching/reading the media artifact itself, including examples from the artifact that support your analysis,

* logical organization, complete with transitions,

* some contextual information about the artifact,

* citations to other communication scholarship, about your particular artifact (if applicable), and/or about your critical lens (you must establish what we already know in order to build on it with your analysis). You must cite at least 6 scholarly sources (peer-reviewed journal articles, books, book chapters) beyond the material you read for the class. At least 4 of your scholarly sources must come from journals in the list below.

*Focus of this paper should be the interaction of the main characters and how they use sarcasm to lessen the trauma they have seen. Also the family support they have on and off duty.
