For this assignment I want you to imagine yourself as a reporter of a fictional small town newspaper here in Nevada.

-some houses have fallen into sinkholes
– a local mining cave collapsed
– mercury has been found in the local water supply
– many of the local mine workers, the community, or local wildlife have been showing health problems (it is up to you what the problems exactly are)
The goal of this assignment will be to explain to your readers what has happened, why it has happened, and what do these events say about mining communities in general.
